How is this building salvage?
I’m guessing that building salvage may not be the first thing that comes to your mind when you see this beautiful garden It was not first in my mind either until I went on a tour of this site and the docent mentioned that all the columns were salvaged from other buildings. I felt cheered and empowered by that fact. Notice how the bases are all different heights. Incorporate salvaged material in your home design. Sarasota, FL, USA
Terrocotta is vastly underused in contemporary building! Polychromatic terracotta with the plasticity of form plus the added benefit of all the color possibilities is bound to be “discovered” and popularized (anew) by some smart architect. Sarasota, FL, USA
Swoopy Contemporary Home.
The hard-edged, geometric, deco feeling details incorporated into the flowing lines of this home gave me a sense of visual frission.
This balustrade works like a pointillist painting.
I find it fascinating how in close up this balustrade looks almost busy, with six different spindles and a variety of caps and bases. However, as you step back and see it from a different distance the details become subverted into a consistent and augmented whole. Sarasota, FL, USA
Impressive open tread stairs.
These stairs look fresh, cool and well ventilated in the Florida sun. Barefoot Beach, FL, USA
