Thinking About…Garage Top Pergolas

The dual structures, the  textures and the colors all work to lend this garage top pergola a sophisticated outlook.

The circular halo design and attractive treatment of the parapet railing makes this pergola a standout.

Two very different but equally smart and stylish approaches to an often overlooked part of the garden plan. Capitol Hill, Seattle, WA, USA

Well intergrated materials

Well integrated materials.

I’m drawn to homes that bravely undertake difficult tasks. It is not easy to integrate very contemporary materials into an established design, this home does a beautiful job. Note the rusted steel lower level  and the clean contemporary windows. The garden sculpture is an exciting and effective flourish. Ballard, Seattle, WA, USA

Greenwood Gothic Garden

Greenwood Gothic Garden

It is rare to see a setting that expresses an individual vision that is so completely and well executed. The unusual  analogous  color scheme with a preponderance of black lightened by the smart accents of burgundy and blue (note the dyed  blue water in the fountain) make this garden a stand out. Note also the effective use of color in the  foundation plantings. Greenwood, Seattle, WA, USA
