The gable end style here (where part of the gable appears lopped off) is known as a jerkin head or clipped gable. Ballard, WA USA, 1925
I’m drawn to homes that bravely undertake difficult tasks. It is not easy to integrate very contemporary materials into an established design, this home does a beautiful job. Note the rusted steel lower level and the clean contemporary windows. The garden sculpture is an exciting and effective flourish. Ballard, Seattle, WA, USA
The spring flowers lend a winsome charm.
Painted brick with the details nicely highlighted in black and white.

This pair of bay windows really enliven the facade of this building. The paint color with the textures of the wood and brick is fantastic. The brick detailing in the parapet wall is exceptional. (above the bay windows) Ballard, Seattle, WA, USA
